Homewinter season
Winter season. We have winter and with it a chance for snow and skiing madness. Covid is not letting go, but we stubbornly live with hope for a winter holiday full of pre-pandemic joys with a bit of luxury in the background. Last season's viral drought directs our thoughts towards fairy-tale pictures with James Bond on skis, where the blue and white of the snow-covered slopes contrast with the darkness of cozy interiors and softness woolen blanket hugging an alluring skier. House of Gucci fans visualize themselves as the handsome Maurizio Gucci or Lady Gaga in an equally charming setting in the French-speaking part of the Swiss Alps.

Villa
A funny name, which in my childhood was only associated with a dirty toilet seat, personifies the chic and charm of Alpine resorts by a capital K. Separated from the coarse folklore of Szczyrk and the Young Poland manner of Zakopane, places in Megève or Courchevel surprise with a designer approach to traditional highland architecture, colors, design and lifestyle ..

Wood subjected to modern processing, without floral carving, raw grids, instead of a sweet meadow, carded flax textures, natural patterns of calf fur and glass facades revealing the beauty of the landscape are a modern interpretation of aesthetics apré-ski.

The fireplace is mandatory, but not in the carved nativity scene with fittings from a friendly blacksmith. Black granite, raw sheet metal, half-thick trunks or the delicate white of unbarked birch are an idea for a non-standard facade. Against the background of the dark, modest setting, the golden glow of the fire shines even more strongly.

A beautifully set table, full of refined delicacies and a glass of red wine awakens the imagination. As Villa in the French version it means something different than a restroom in Polish, and so does the menu gastronomic means something different from gastronomy in the PL version. After months of closed restaurants, it enjoys the richness of taste and beauty set de table.

Traditional materials available in the mountain landscape and motifs associated with highlanders can be described a bit differently. There are antlers on traditional signboards like in Bluebeard's room pass. Animal horns as modern wall lamps are chic.

The compulsory modernization of the hotel base caused by covid has become a pretext for many positive changes in the domestic accommodation base. Maybe private investors will also go in this direction? They will abandon the folk-kilimki from Ikea and the sickly-sweet atmosphere of Austrian gargamels in favor of ambitious, modern mountain designs that go beyond the folk pattern.
